my baby boy is growing up

Today I gave Parker his first haircut.

It was getting so long on the top and was impossible to dry after a bath. He only grows hair on the top of his head and on the back of his head...no hair on the sides for our kiddo! So, he kind of looked like he had a perma-mohawak...not to mention the little mini-mullet he had going on in the back! He had a long strip of hair just along the bottom-back of his head! So funny! He had a ton of hair when he was born and it just grew so fast! I called my sister to get some advice first...she had some, but since neither of her children had enough hair this early she was only able to tell me how she does Caleb's now! (since Drays doesn't have near enough hair yet) I was so nervous, but I think it turned out alright. Sorry, these pictures were the best I could get. It is so hard to get a pictures of super-fine baby hair! He must get that from me and his Papa Kev-o! (super-fine hair...and LOTS of it)

so many GIGGLES...so little time

This video cracks me up. He was so giggly today! He had Travis and I laughing so hard. It started out with him laughing at Deacon, then while he was playing on his activity mat he was entertaining himself! So funny!



This video is pretty funny, too. This all goes back to how babies have the ability to make you act like a total fool and you don't even care. Please excuse my silly voice! Apparently the words BATH & STINKY were hilarious yesterday! He has been a riot lately!

Happy 3 Months to Parker!!!

I cannot believe that my little guy is already 3 months old! It seems like just yesterday that we were heading to the hospital for my induction. Parks weighs a whopping 14 pounds now. He is quite the chunker! He is laughing so much now. I would post a video of it, but as soon as he sees the camera he becomes so fascinated with it that all he wants to do is stare at it! I have to try to hide it from him now. He is such a big boy now and is starting to be able to do so many new things. Parker is the light of my life and I thank God every day that he chose me to be his Mommy! I could not imagine my life without him. I have included a slideshow with a bunch of pictures of Parker (starting from a couple minutes old and going to a couple days ago). It is amazing how much he has changed in just 3 short months! He started out looking exactly like his Daddy, but as time goes on I think he is starting to be a pretty even mix of the two of us. Enjoy the slideshow!

On another great note...I have lost almost all of my "baby weight." I only have 10 pounds left to go! I was already heavier than I would like before Parker was born, and gained WAAAAY too much while I was pregnant with him! So, I am thrilled to say the least! I am fitting in way more of my clothes now, too! I am almost back in my pre-preggo jeans! How exciting!!! I guess it really is the little things in life.

Tool Academy

So...I was watching TV tonight and couldn't find anything to watch. While I was channel surfing I came across what could possibly be the most hilarious show. They took a group of guys who thought they were the best looking, most amazing guys on the planet and told them that they were competing on a show called Mr. Awesome. The best part of the whole thing is that they are really on a show called the Tool Academy. They lead the guys to believe that they are going to party with a whole bunch of gorgeous girls, but when they go inside the house, they see their girlfriends standing there, totally peeved and ready to kill them for all the things they have done and said at the party so far. Next, the host tells them that not only are they not competing to be Mr. Awesome, but that they are all complete "tools" and are all on a show called the Tool Academy and the only way to win is to stop being such a tool (arrogant, idiot, etc...) and get their act together.

As much as I hate reality TV, it is about time that they made a show to expose guys like that for the dummies they really are! Hilarious!!!

BATH DAY!

Well, today was bath day for Parker and Deacon! It was pretty entertaining. We had gotten done giving Parker a bath in the kitchen sink and wondered if we could fit Deacon in there afterward...well, as you can tell, WE CAN! There was no way we would have been able to actually wash him in there, but he stayed in there long enough for us to get a picture! It was pretty funny. He looked too scared to even move.

After bath time was over, I changed Parker into some sweatpants and he lounged on the couch with Daddy for a while. He was actually really giggly, but he has gotten into this new thing where he stops as soon as he sees the camera! What a stinker!!!

Love Is A Beautiful Thing

It truly is amazing how you can love someone so little so much! I knew that I would love Parker more than anything, but until you see your child for the first time you can't fully understand the feeling. It is overwhelming and yet somehow it grows every day! Who am I kidding??? For me the feeling grows every minute! I love being home with him all the time, and getting to just watch him play and laugh. I love his little noises and grunts! When I met Travis, I didn't know that deep of a love even existed, and now that Parker has joined our family, I have gotten to experience an even deeper love than that. It is the kind of love that makes you act like a total fool and not even care or give it a second thought. It doesn't even matter how stupid or ridiculous you look, as long as you get to hear the sweetest sound on earth--your baby's giggle! Sometimes when I am playing with Parker or having one of those conversations that only Mommies have with their babies (full of noises, laughs, smiles, and funny faces) I look up and see Travis' face...it is priceless! He is always giving me this face that seems to say, "I love you so much but you are acting like a crazy person!"

Parker has these amazingly deep and clear blue eyes. There is not even a speck of brown or any other color in them, so we are pretty sure that they are not going to change. He has this ability to totally melt my heart with one little look. I find myself wondering what he is going to be like in the future, not even as a little boy, but as a grown man. I hope that he is so respectful, caring, and full of life. I really pray that he gets Travis' sense of humor! As soon as he is old enough to understand, I plan on showing him and teaching him the "ladies first" way of life! I feel like you just don't see it enough these days. I would like Parker to be one of those rare high school boys that opens doors for girls. I can't wait for him to start talking...I know I say that now, but when he starts, I know that he won't stop! I hope he says hilarious things like my nephew Caleb! You never know what will come out of his little mouth...or big mouth, depending on the day!

I am curious who Parker will look like after a year or two. I know that when he was born he looked just like Trav. Now that he has grown up a little bit over the last 3 months, depending on the picture, he looks a lot like my nephews. I even found one picture of him where he looked like my sister!

I'm sure you have probably had enough of my rambling of just how much I love this little boy...but I just can't contain myself! Look at that little face, how could you not fall head-over-heels for that sweet smile??? I always knew that I would love being a mom so much...but this much was beyond my wildest dreams! I would do anything for those baby blue eyes! Travis is going to have to be the disciplinarian, because I know that I am going to be a total push-over for my little Parker James!

It's Been A While...

I got so used to putting up blog posts all the time...and it has been so long since the last one that it feels a little strange to do another. I have to admit that I have missed it.

The Guion Fam had a wonderful Christmas. We started our vacation by packing our little car to the brim--us, carseat, dog, clothes, Christmas presents, etc... As you can see in the picture, poor Deacon was forced to lay on top of a suitcase in the backseat. At one point he even had his head laying in Parker's lap! It was pretty funny. I have to admit that not only was I excited to go to the Tri-Cities to see my amazing family, but also just to get out of Cheney for a while.

So, our awesome break away from Cheney and all the snow started out in the Tri-Cities. We celebrated Christmas a little early because Travis, Parker and I were going to be in Snohomish for actual Christmas day and my sister and her family were going to be in California with my brother-in-law's family. I think this was the first Christmas that both my sister and I were gone. It was fantastic to get to spend time with my family and just relax. We got some amazing presents as well. My favorite had to be my new Garmin from my parents. (For those of you who don't know, a Garmin is a car navigation dealy.) I am totally obsessed with them, and now I have a pretty pink one of my very own!!! Travis laughs at me, because he is a man, and doesn't need the aid of the Garmin that we have fondly named LOLA. Travis hates being told how to drive by an electronic device. It has really come in handy for me though...I have absolutely no sense of direction and could get lost anywhere!!! After a fantastic several days with my family, we packed up the car again (minus Deacon who stayed at my parent's house to play with their hilarious, paper-eating dog Gus) to head to Snohomish to see Travis' family. I had so much anxiety about the trip and the road conditions. Anyone who has a baby understands what I am saying about traveling with an infant. It is one thing to go somewhere when the trip takes less time than the time between his feedings, it is quite another to have to pull over and get the baby out of his seat to feed him and change his nasty, blow-out poopy diaper in a truck! It is tricky...let me tell you!!! The road conditions over the pass and on the way to the pass were terrible. I spent most of the time white-knuckled in the passenger seat. We saw so many cars in the ditch and so many State Troopers on the side of the road helping people out. By the time we finally got to Snohomish we went straight to Great Grandpa Frank and Great Grandma Mary Lou's house for the Guion side Christmas and gift exchange. It was nice to see everyone, but I did feel a little anxious still because it had just been a very long day. I have been really trying not to get stressed out because I know that Parker can sense how I feel. The next couple days were spent with family and friends. Parker got some very cute clothes this Christmas. He is not even 3 months old yet and is already wearing 3-6 month clothes because he is so long! We took him to the doctor right before we left for vacation for his 2-month well-baby check. It has been a couple weeks since that, but he was 12 lbs. 12 oz. (75th percentile) and 24 1/2 in. long (95th percentile). Future basketball star? We shall see!

Well, I wish I had taken more pictures, but here are some of the updated pictures that we did take. My parents got us a video camera for Christmas and as soon as I figure out how to get them onto the computer, I will post some of those too!

We are finally back at home and trying to get back on our regular schedule. I looked over and saw this totally adorable sight, both my boys sitting on the couch watching T.V. together! I couldn't pass up taking a quick picture.
